The best things to do in Dubai at night are watching the Dubai Fountain, seeing the city from the Burj Khalifa observation decks, walking the lit-up waterfront at Al Seef and Dubai Marina, and in season, visiting Global Village. Evenings are also much cooler than the day, which matters most from late spring to early autumn.

1. Watch the Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain is a show of water jets, light and music on Burj Lake, outside Dubai Mall. It is free to watch from the lake edge, and it is held in the evenings, with shows roughly every half hour. Times can change, and they move later during Ramadan, so check current times before you go. Arrive early for a spot at the front rails, because the crowd builds up.

For a different view, a boat ride on the lake and a floating boardwalk both run in the evenings, and you pay for those.

2. See the city from the Burj Khalifa

The observation decks are on levels 124 and 125, with an outdoor terrace on 124, and level 148 (At the Top SKY) is reached on a guided tour. Tickets are for a set time, so book ahead and choose a slot near sunset if you want to see the city in daylight and then lit up.

3. Walk Al Seef by the Creek

Al Seef is a heritage-style district on Dubai Creek with old-style alleys and a waterfront walkway. It is a calm evening walk away from the towers, and it is free to wander.

4. Cross the Creek by abra

The traditional abra boats connect Deira and Bur Dubai. In the evening, the crossing gives a view of the old waterfront and the souk lights.

5. Stroll Dubai Marina

The Marina promenade has restaurants along the water, and a cruise is a simple way to see the towers lit up.

6. Global Village (in season)

Global Village is a family park of pavilions from many countries, with shopping, food, shows and rides. It runs seasonally. Season 31 opened on 14 October 2026 and was announced to run to about May 2027, so check the dates for your trip.

7. Take a desert evening tour

Evening desert tours leave the city for the dunes and return after dark. Compare what is included before you book.

Getting around at night

The Metro serves Downtown (Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station) and Dubai Marina. Check the last train times, then plan a taxi for the way back if you will be out late.
